For The Love Of Pizza

Posted by Gidge.

*******

Tony’s Party Pizzas have always made me horny.

When I was in my twenties and in a torrid love affair of dubious quality, we were broke. We spent all of our money on booze, clothes to wear to clubs, cover charges to clubs and what was left went to food. Ramen noodles and Tony’s party pizza were staples. The pizza was preferred. It went better with beer, and was easier to eat sitting snuggled up on the loveseat we’d drug up from the Goodwill down the street.

We declared our love for each other constantly, and with huge grins would fall onto each other as if it would be the last time we ever said the words. A lot of party pizza would get smashed into the couch when the moment would strike us.

It wasn’t love, but we didn’t know it. It was lust. We had both found that first person you can be uninhibited with. The someone you can do anything to or with, and they stare back at you smiling……willing to do whatever you want. Nothing was off limits, nothing was wrong or a sin…….and everything began or ended with beer and party pizza.

I worked a second job to subsidize airfare to keep this relationship going. I spent every extra dime I made on airfare, sometimes flying 2000 miles just for a two day visit. The fact that he didn’t reciprocate was probably a sign, but I didn’t notice it at the time.

Arrival, sex, dinner – Party Pizza, after dinner, sex, go to club – contemplate further sex, go home – possibly covert sex in cab or on bus, get home, more sex, go to sleep, wake up in the middle of the night, more sex, wake up for the day, more sex, shower – sex during shower, breakfast – party pizza left? Eat if so, if not, go out to Denny’s and flirt voraciously so that you have to go back to the apartment for more sex rather than go do whatever you intended to do.

Tony’s Party Pizza punctuated with passion filled sex.

One of the best combinations ever.

See, now I have to check out your blog. Like I don't have enough to read already. Sigh.

Why? Because I've had this relationship. And it brings it all back.

Holla. Me, too. Expect for us, it was Domino's.

Gosh, dating was so much better than marriage. Mainly, because we had time to have sex and the extra money to order Domino's.

Ahhh...

Holey shit did we date? YOu just discribed my life in the late '90s. Thanks for that.

I'm pretty sure we didn't date.
Do you have a bald head, a red goatee and an unsettling patch of red fur on your lower back?
Oh, and Hobbit feet?
Cuz we might've dated if so......

Man, when I re-read this, all I can think is..."where did all my sex drive GO?"

For me it was spaghetti! He thought it was romantic and would light candles. Very similar to the dogs in The Lady and the Tramp.

I just dropped by from Plain Jane's site. I really enjoyed this blog entry--well-written, and the material is certainly relatable. I do think we've all had this relationship! Great blog!

I love cheap pizza as well, probably because my cruel mother never fed us convenience foods. My boyfriend (now-husband) would snuggle together and eat it in his dorm when I would come to visit. His room mate said, "you sure know how to show a lady a good time!" Haha, awesome.
