Birthday Surprise

Posted by Anonymous.

Yesterday was my birthday, I am 30 years old. I am the high school student who was in forensics and band, never went to parties, and graduated from college with a 4.0 GPA. I have 2 children (ages 6 and 2) and have been married for 9 years. I have a good job, a good life, a good husband. I don't party, don't drink, don't smoke. For my birthday I wanted to do something I have never done before. I knew that before we were dating my husband had done it only once or twice, and I just wanted to be able to say I'd had the experience. That I had tried it. I only casually mentioned it to him, that I was just curious about what it felt like and he said he could probably get some if I really wanted to. That was the end of the conversation, I didn't really believe he could. And then he brought some home from work, I didn't even recognize what it was when he showed it to me, LOL. So last night, after the kids were in bed, we went out to the garage together. You should have seen us, neither one had a clue if we were doing it right. And then we had great sex and went to bed. I can't tell anyone, I would NEVER tell anyone, so I am sharing it anonymously with you internet. I am 30 years old and last night I smoked pot for the first time.

**Postscript: please don't judge me in the comments, this is a one time only experience. End of story. Neither one of us have any desire for this to be a repeated event. I am happy that my only time getting high was with my husband, in the safety of our own home.

Good for you! Honestly, I can't say there's anything wrong with this. You're an adult. You're responsible. You're not hurting anyone. No judgment here - and happy birthday!

Pot is no worse, and in many ways a good deal better than alcohol or cigarettes. I hope you don't feel guilty. I'm glad you had fun.

I agree with the above comments! I think they should legalize it anyway. Happy birthday!! :o)

Judge you?? Are you kidding?? This is freakin' awesome. You rock.

I have to agree with everyone and say awesome!!! I agree its better than alcohol and smoking cigs. I smoke 1 or 2 times a year with friends for special events and I don't see the big deal!

Congrats on your first 420 experience!

I agree with the previous posters! If more people were mature and responsible like you, pot would be legal already.

I personally don't enjoy the effects, but I'm glad you had fun!

That really is the best way to experiment! Sounds like you had fun and you were safe so who cares?! I don't smoke but I do say, "Legalize!!!"

I have to agree with everyone before me... There is ABSOLUTELY nothing wrong with that! I am so glad you enjoyed it, and hope you don't feel guilty :)

Pot does do a lot less damage to society overall than alcohol, IMHO.

Loved this post!

Sounds like a memory the two of you will have for a long time!

I was even more of a geek in high school and college than you were. I'm in my 40s and regret never having experiences that "normal" kids have. Thanks for helping me remember that you're never too old to try something new!

Good for you! This post made me smile. Happy Birthday!

Good for you for stretching your wings. Hitting 30 is no reason to no longer have adventures! Which is how I ended up with a small (privately located) butterfly tattoo in 2001, at the age of 34.

MANY people who know me would be shocked!

This post made me smile! Congratulations on a safe and fun experience for your birthday. I'm not quite as lily white as you but I had zero experience with drugs of any kind until New Years of this year. I tried pot, didn't like and decided that was enough for me. I'm so glad I tried it though.

Thanks for making my day with your light and happy story.

I say "Good for you!!!" This was a wonderful post, and it made my morning!

I just asked a friend to do the same for me this year on my 40th birthday! Also, I love that my tattoo is where no one can see it unless I invite them to share!

Didn't this exact rant/confession post several weeks ago? I have seen this before.

I'm 27 and hope that I can say the same on my 30th.

Um. Actually, good for you! I think you used it responsibly, you guys are consenting adults and you hurt no one.

Happy birthday!

You guys really need to move to Canada. That's like an annual birthday ritual, even for my lawyer friends. lol.

Must say good for you! Happy Birthday! I am personally allergic to the THC in pot and it makes me ridiculously sick. I get a headache even at the smell of it, but as every one else said you were responsible with it and at least you can say you tried it.

GO YOU!!!

Well, I guess i was the only person that thought you were going to say, you tried something new sexually.

My husband was much like you, and couldn't do it here due to not wanting to break the law. But when we were in Amsterdam, he toked up, then puked in the river.

Which proved that he's still a dork. ;-)

Hey, good for you! That's on my bucket list.

If that is the most wild thing you have ever done, well.... I am glad it worked for you.

Being a lawman and rabidly anti dope of any sort, I can't condone, but I have to tell you that your post made me smile.

I'm a nurse married to a teacher, and we'd lose our licenses if random drug testing busted either of us, so this is right out for us. But MAN this made me grin.
